Annual Summer Fete held at Baugh House On Saturday 1st August 2015, Baugh House Care Home held its annual summer fete where the community got together to enjoy a variety of activities and stalls that were set up from entertainment, games, a bouncy castle to a tombola along with BBQ. We had the pleasure of welcoming Mayor of Bexley, Sybil Camsie to our home, who took time out of her busy schedule to visit Baugh House.
After introductions, she was taken on a guided tour of our home to meet the residents and care teams who were thrilled to meet the councillor. Afternoon Tea under the sun in the beautiful gardens was enjoyed by all whilst others indulged in BBQ feast and cakes.
The day was well attended and the funds that were raised are going towards enhanced activities for the residents. Local establishments kindly donated gifts and prizes for the raffle, with Mrs Joy Kemp and Mrs Gill Corps, Activities Coordinators at the home commenting that it was a “real community day and was enjoyed by all ages”.
The Home Manager, Phidelima Umeyor-Ajao said, “the weather did us proud and our residents thoroughly enjoyed the day. We were delighted to celebrate with everyone and I’m so pleased we had such a good turn-out”. Not only did we have a great day, but we also managed to raise a great amount of funds, all thanks to the generosity of our attendees.
Ravi Gidar, Director of Gold Care Homes, attended the event and later stated, “It was an honour to have the councillor, Sybil Camsie - Mayor of Bexley, attend our event and appreciate our contribution to care. I recognise everyone’s hard work and thank everyone for the kind donations. I pledge to match the total sum raised on the day.”
The residents of Baugh House can look forward to seeing the benefits of these contributions in the coming months, the aim is to get a mini bus on-site to take our residents out for day trips.
